A stilbene derivative with antioxidant and anticancer activities; stimulates proliferation of hydrogen peroxide-damaged ECV-304 cells (EC50 = 24.9 nM); reduces hydrogen peroxide-induced release of LDH in and increases viability of HUVECs; reverses hydrogen peroxide-induced release of MDA and decreases in SOD and GSH-Px activities and increases cNOS activity and NO production in HUVECs; induces cell death of A549 NSCLC cells in an IRE1α-dependent manner
