Can be used to conjugate proteins and small molecules.
General Information
Maleimide-terminated polyethylene glycol (PEG, 5 kDa) grafting introduces a terminal Maleimide group that can be used for conjugation to Thiol-containing molecules through Maleimide chemistry.
Methoxy-terminated PEG is used as the backfill to stabilize the particles against charge-induced aggregation.
Applications
Nanoparticle conjugation to proteins and targeting ligands.
Actively targeted gold conjugate nanoparticles for in vitro and in vivo studies.
Gold nanoparticles for lateral flow and immune assays.
Gold nanoparticle labeling probes for electron microscopy.

Maleimide is introduced at the end of 5 kDa PEG spacer
Shelf life: > 1 year (4°C storage)
Supplied as freeze-dried powder (NOTE: trehalose is used as cryopreservant; once product is redispersed in buffer, trehalose final concentration is 0.45% w/v)
Storage and Handling
For long-term storage (>1 month), store the product at or below -20°C. For shorter periods (<1 month) product can be stored at 4°C or room temperature.
Immediately before use, resuspend the nanoparticles in the indicated volume of 1X PBS or another buffer.
