Oxyntomodulin (OXM) is a peptide hormone that is secreted in the small intestine during food intake and plays a role in the feeling of satiety and appetite. Oxyntomodulin is used experimentally for drug-assisted weight loss in obesity, as it reduces feelings of hunger and promotes energy metabolism.
