Biotinylated Recombinant Protein A/G that has been covalently conjugated to biotin. Gene fusion of the Fc-binding domains of Protein A and Protein G results in production of a chimeric Protein A/G with broader binding compared to Protein A or Protein G alone. During fusion, the Protein G gene sequence coding for the serum albumin-binding site is removed to minimize non-specific interactions. The extended Fc-binding properties of Protein A/G make it a popular tool in the investigation and purification of immunoglobulins. Protein A/G binds to all human IgG subclasses, IgA, IgE, IgM and less strongly to IgD. Protein A/G does not bind to mouse IgA or IgM. Protein A/G is an excellent tool for purification and detection of mouse monoclonal antibodies from IgG subclasses without interference from other serum proteins. Individual subclasses of mouse monoclonal antibodies are more likely to have strong affinity to Protein A/G compared to Protein A or Protein G. Our recombinant Protein A/G is a fusion protein that comprises of a total of 7 IgG-binding domains EDABC-C2C3. This fusion protein combines the active Fc-binding domains of Protein A and Protein G that are contained in the recombinant sequence. The comprehensive Fc-binding properties of Protein A/G fusion make it a standard tool in the study and purification of immunoglobulins. Protein A/G fusion is an excellent tool for purification and detection of mouse monclonal antibodies from IgG subclasses without interference from other serum proteins.
