PuroMAG™ Fibrous Tissue RNA Purification Plus Kit, 5 Preps Trial Kit

The PuroMAG™ Fibrous Tissue RNA Purification Kit is designed to purify total RNA from fibrous animal tissue, such as skin, skeletal muscle, lung, or heart. This purification technology is based on RNA binding to silica-coated magnetic beads, which allows for efficient removal of genomic DNA, protein, salt, and other contaminants. Silica-based purification provides a faster, simpler, and safer alternative to traditional nucleic acid purification techniques such as phenol-chloroform extraction. In comparison to our standard PuroMAG™ Fibrous Tissue RNA Purification Kit, the Plus kit adds an additional filtration step that removes the insoluble and non-digested fraction as well as ensuring elimination of genomic DNA from the lysate before loading it onto the silica groups on the magnetic beads. This prevents contaminating materials from binding to and blocking parts of the silica groups, leading to an increased RNA yield and higher purity of the final product. This is particularly benficial when workign with large samples that contain a lot of starting material that needs to be digested. This kit includes an on-column DNase I digestion step to remove any contaminating DNA. This kit offers various throughput applications using a manual magnetic rack or automated purification systems. The high-throughput protocols have been optimized for Auto-Pure Nucleic Acid Purification systems, but can be adapted for other purification systems (i.e. Kingfisher Flex, Hamilton Microlab STAR, Biomek FX, etc.). PuroMAG™ 8-Hole Mini Magnetic Rack (Cat# MGR-008) and PuroMAG™16-Hole Mini Magnetic Rack (Cat# MGR-016) are perfectly suitable for fast and convenient manual purification of RNA. This kit can also be used to perform RNA cleanup after DNase I or other enzymatic treatments. High quality RNA extracted with the PuroMAG™ Fibrous Tissue RNA Purification Kit can be used for a range of downstream applications such as reverse-transcription qPCR, Northern blotting, or microarray analysis. For purification of RNA from soft tissue, such as spleen, kidney, liver, or brain, or from bacteria, yeast, or mammalian cells, please use our PuroMAG™ Total RNA Purification Kit (#NKM051-96, #NKM051-384).
