Inhibits the synthesis of nitric oxide (NO) in a dose-dependent and enantiospecific fashion. Useful tool to study the role and the effects of NO in cardiovascular and gastrointestinal disorders, hypertension, diabetes, septic shock, inflammation, infection, stroke and neurodegenerative disorders.
