This antibody recognizes immunoglobulin heavy chain, binding to Ig of the Salmo, Oncorhynchus and Salvelinus genera, including Atlantic Salmon, Brown Trout, Chinook Salmon, Chum Salmon, Coho Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, Rainbow Trout, Arctic Char, and Brook Trout. It does not detect immunoglobulin from other fish such as China Perch or Zebra Fish, but it may be used to detect increased levels of immunoglobulins in fish serum, which may be indicative of a parasitic or viral infection.
