Causes a rapid decrease in blood glucose level in mice. Increases brown adipose tissue thermogenesis. Induces functionally active mitochondrial uncoupling protein (UCP) in white fat. Restores the expression of down-regulated fatty acid oxidation genes in type 2 diabetic mice.
