靶标/特异性:

This antibody reacts with the 46 kD cytokeratin polypeptide 20, a type I cytokeratin that is found in duodenal epithelium, glandular gastric and pyloric epithelium, urothelium and Merkel cells of the epidermis. It does not cross-react with other cytokeratin polypeptides or other intermediate filaments. This cytokeratin is expressed in colon carcinoma, and to a lesser degree in gastric carcinoma. Other positive carcinomas include gall bladder, bile duct, ductal cells of pancreas, mucinous ovarian tumors and transitional cell carcinomas. Carcinoma of breast, lung, endometrium and non-mucinous tumors of ovary are not recognized byThis antibody. Merkel cell carcinomas of the skin show strong reactivity withThis antibody.

功能与背景:

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the keratin family. The keratins are intermediate filament proteins responsible for the structural integrity of epithelial cells and are subdivided into cytokeratins and hair keratins. The type I cytokeratins consist of acidic proteins which are arranged in pairs of heterotypic keratin chains. This cytokeratin is a major cellular protein of mature enterocytes and goblet cells and is specifically expressed in the gastric and intestinal mucosa. The type I cytokeratin genes are clustered in a region of chromosome 17q12-q21. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
