功能与背景:
Erythropoietin is a humoral factor that stimulates erythropoiesis. EPO has four introns and five exons and contains 165 amino acids. EPO induces growth and differentiation of burst forming units and colony forming units into mature red blood cells. Human erythropoietin stimulates growth of rodent bone marrow cells. Recombinant erythropoietin is produced in CHO cells by a DNA sequence encoding the human EPO protein.
