DiOC1(3) is a fluorescent carbocyanine dye used to measure mitochondrial membrane potential or staining of plasma membranes or nucleic acid (DNA). It can be used for flow cytometry and fluorescent microscopy and for discrimination of viable cells. Also used for imaging of fixed cells. Used as a donor in TR-FRET. Spectral Data: Excitation max: ~ 488nm, Emission max: ~500-530nm (accord. Lit). Intermediate for the synthesis of fluorescent probes.
