Inhibitor of myeloperoxidase activity [2, 5]. Hypoglycemic. Decreases blood glucose levels in diabetic and normal rats [2, 3]. Insulinomimetic. Modulates glucose homeostasis [12]. Decreases blood glucose levels and stimulates glucose uptake in muscle [3]. Inhibits GLUT4 mediated glucose uptake in differentiated 3T3-L1 cells [6]. Improves insulin resistance by the activation of the classical insulin transduction pathway [7]. Increases adiponectin secretion in 3T3-L1 adipocytes [7]. Antinoniceptive [8].
